My fans show 0 RPM
This can be normal in System mode or when no rule is requesting cooling. Diagnostics checks active requests and macOS thermal pressure before inferring a problem. An explicit hardware fault remains a warning. Choose System if you are unsure about a custom configuration.
My Mac is offline
Keep it awake and connected. Check that Remote is enabled on the Mac and that Pro Fan is active. Last readings may remain visible, but commands stay disabled until the Mac is online.
A change did not apply
Check the command result and refresh settings. Local changes take precedence over stale remote revisions. Do not assume a pending command succeeded or repeatedly resend it. Restore Automatic returns control to macOS when the Mac confirms it.
Purchase or restoration problems
Use the same Apple purchase account and the same My Fan Control account used for the purchase. Open Pro Fan → Restore Purchases. Remote access appears after your subscription is verified. If Apple plans or verification are unavailable, try again later. Local Mac functionality remains free.
Apple account already exists
Sign in to your existing email account before connecting Apple, or use the web’s Connect to your existing account flow after Apple authorization. We do not automatically merge accounts based on email alone.
Permissions
The helper is required for changing fan speeds, not temperature monitoring. Camera permission is only for QR scanning. Notifications and launch at login are optional. See setup instructions.
